This policy applies to the Enough English app for iPhone and iPad and this website.
1. Microphone and on-device processing
Speaking practice uses the microphone with your permission. The included Whisper model converts English speech to text on your device, and an included answer-similarity model helps compare your answer with lesson examples. We do not operate a cloud recognition service or receive your recordings or answers. Audio and recognized text are held in memory for the current practice session and are not saved as recordings or transcripts.
2. Information stored on your device
The app stores learning progress, practice results, favorites, preferences and lessons you import in its local storage. It does not provide an account or cloud progress sync. Device backups may include this data according to your system settings. Local performance diagnostics may record processing duration and device thermal state; the app does not send these diagnostics to us or include your audio or recognized text in them.
3. Lesson audio and connectivity
Lessons, recorded examples, speech-recognition models and the answer-similarity model are bundled with the app. The app plays a bundled recording when available and uses an Apple English system voice as a fallback, including for imported text without recordings. Downloading a system voice may require internet access. Purchasing or restoring Pro, opening websites and sending email require a connection.
4. Purchases
Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase with no subscription or automatic renewal. Apple processes payments through the App Store, and the app uses StoreKit to verify purchase status and unlock content. We do not receive payment card details. Restoring Pro restores eligible purchase access, not learning progress. Apple handles purchase data under its Apple Privacy Policy.
5. Information we collect
The current app does not require registration and does not include developer-operated advertising, analytics, cloud storage, crash reporting or online speech recognition. We do not collect personal data from the app. Website requests and emails you choose to send are handled as described below.
6. Website and support email
This website uses Cloudflare hosting and contains no analytics scripts, advertising cookies or contact forms. Hosting and network providers may process technical request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and security events to deliver and protect the site. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. If you email us, we use your address and the information you provide to respond and troubleshoot, retain it only as needed for that purpose, and do not use it for marketing.
7. Your choices and deletion
You can revoke microphone permission in system settings and continue in listening mode. Deleting the app removes data in its app container; manage system backups and original imported files separately. Deleting the app does not delete Apple purchase records. You may email us to request access to or deletion of information supplied in support emails, subject to necessary legal retention requirements.
8. Children
Enough English is designed for everyday English practice and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If a child has sent personal information in a support email, a parent or guardian can contact us to request its deletion.
9. Policy changes
We may update this policy when the app or its data handling changes. The revised policy will appear here with an updated date.
